I have had the good fortune of my husband being the Ward/Stake organist for all of our married life. He is so meticulous & expressive when he plays, he really brings in a beautiful spirit & a lovely expression of his testimony! Lee always gives at least a half hour of prelude music and people come early just to hear "the concert" as I've heard them say! About a year ago, it was decided to have Lee "share" his calling with some other players. The first time he was not up there playing, everyone thought he was either sick, gone, hurt hands and/or feet! When we explained he would be sharing his calling, people said, "I'm not coming on the Sunday he doesn't play", "it's not the same", "where's the spirit?" and "I miss it when he doesn't play". Then when it is his turn again, they all are thrilled, relieved & so appreciative of his talent, skill and expression! So "hats off" to you sir for your fine work and as an organist - hey man, "You Rock"!!!

That is pretty cool. I didn't know he had always been playing. And a half hour of prelude music?? That is very generous of his time and talent.
I am a fake organist - no feet whatsoever, minimal prelude, and if it is an unfamiliar organ, someone has to show me what stops to push for the setup. Hats off to Lee!
We miss not hearing him anymore. Its always fun to hear it again at stake conference!
